TORONTO – Two Toronto schools were temporarily put into a hold and secure Thursday afternoon as police chased a robbery suspect through the Beach neighbourhood.
Toronto Police were pursuing a man who was involved in an alleged robbery of a nearby photography store.
Glen Ames Public School and William Road Junior Public School were put in hold and secure as a precaution during the search.
The schools are both near Williamson Road and Southwood Drive in the Beach neighbourhood of east Toronto.
Police eventually caught and arrested the man shortly before 12:30 p.m. They also seized a replica handgun.
The hold and secures were lifted shortly after 1 p.m.
