Body found near Paynton, Sask. identified as missing Alberta man

PAYNTON, Sask. – Human remains found on the bank of the North Saskatchewan River have been identified as those of a missing Alberta man.

Canoeists discovered the body last Thursday near the Paynton ferry crossing.

An autopsy performed in Saskatoon on Tuesday confirmed the remains to be those of Michael Anthony Ross from St. Albert, Alta. He was identified through dental records.

Ross, 46, was reported missing in Edmonton on Nov. 18, 2013.

His death is not considered suspicious.
