Geography

The eastern, more suburban-rural of Windsor’s two ridings, this district includes all of the bedroom town of Tecumseh, along with neighbourhoods in Windsor east of Langlois Avenue and Pilette Road.

History

The NDP won big in the August 1, 2013 by-election to replace former Finance Minister Dwight Duncan, with new MPP Percy Hatfield getting 61% of the vote and defeating the runner-up PC candidate by over 10,000 votes. Duncan had held this seat since 1995. Before him, NDP MPP Dave Cooke was MPP in Windsor-Riverside from 1977 to 1997.
