VERNON–There is an amazing ending to a story we brought you earlier this month.
A Vernon woman who’s home was broken into was heartbroken that along with some valuables, the thieves had also made off with her deceased mother’s ashes.
She made a public plea to have them returned, and this week, they were.
Manon Care had kept the ashes on a table, along with the ashes of her father, in a blue velvet bag.
She believes the thieves took the bag, thinking there was something else inside of it.
After she turned to the media for help in getting her ashes returned, Care says a lot of people set to work to find them.
On Tuesday, when she returned home from work, the blue bag was just sitting outside her patio door; the very door the thieves originally broke in through.
