WINNIPEG – Fire crews were struggling to contain a large grass fire on the western edge of Winnipeg late Friday afternoon.
Fire trucks and firefighters from Winnipeg and Headingley were fighting the blaze near Saskatchewan Avenue and the Perimeter.
The large pall of white-grey smoke could be seen across the city. Global’s Skyview-1 helicopter was overhead, getting a look at the action.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
