WINNIPEG – A trial date has been set for the Speedway International fire that shook St. Boniface in 2012.
Speedway International and Royce Rostecki, its director, were charged with multiple building and fire bylaw violations following the spectacular 2012 blaze. His trial is set for January.

Fireballs shot into the sky and about 100 homes were evacuated as the fire at the racing fuel manufacturer caused $15 million in damages.
The facility was completely destroyed in the fire but it caused no serious injuries.
The 2012 fire prompted the city to start doing annual inspections at all Winnipeg businesses designated as high hazard sites.
