The Prince George lake where two teenagers died last weekend will be closed this Saturday night.
RCMP say they made the decision to shut down access to Kwitzil Lake after they heard an unsanctioned grad party was planned there.
“Given the horrible circumstances that surrounded this location last weekend, we believe we must take this action in order to prevent further harm and protect these youth,” said Inspector Brad Anderson, the operations officer for the Prince George RCMP.
“The mixing of alcohol and other intoxicants with the high emotions of last weekend’s tragedy, could lead to further incidents.”
It was at 4 a.m. last Saturday that high school students Kendall Moore and Craig Wood died when their vehicle went into the lake.

Investigators are still determining exactly what happened that night. While posts on social media indicated that an unofficial prom party was taking place, RCMP are still gathering evidence.
