KELOWNA – Traffic was slow, but not snarled during the first rush hour during upgrades to Lakeshore Road.
About 500 meters of the road between Lexington Road and Cook Drive was shut down at 7 am Wednesday morning, and it will remain close until the project is complete.
The road closures were supposed to begin yesterday, but city crews needed an extra day to put out all of the detour signs before going ahead with the closure.
The city says thru traffic will still be allowed, meaning people who need to access nearby businesses and residences will still be able to do so.
