TORONTO – The charges against a 31-year-old woman accused of a fatal hit-and-run have been upgraded.
Karen Fyfe, 31, has been charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and failing to stop after a crash.
She had previously been charged with failing to stop causing bodily harm.
She’s accused of causing the death of 28-year-old Jay McGinn. He was waiting for a taxi May 10 on Dundas Street West near Augusta Avenue when he was allegedly hit by the car.
He was taken to hospital where he remained for several days before succumbing to his injuries on May 16.
Fyfe was arrested last week and charged with failing to stop after causing bodily harm.
She is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.
