Suspect arrested after Delta homicide; charges expected today

WATCH (above): The body of an elderly man was found in Tsawwassen last night. As John Daly reports, a suspect is now in custody, but the community has been left rattled.

Delta police are expected to release more details in a homicide case this morning.

They have arrested a suspect after an elderly man was found dead in a home Sunday.

Sgt. Sarah Swallow says police were called to a home in the 4900-block of 5th Avenue at around 5 p.m.

Once there, investigators found an elderly man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a suspect has been taken into custody and the public is not at risk.

Officials have not released the names of the victim or suspect as the investigation is ongoing.

Police are expected to release information about criminal charges today.
