Police incident causes road closures in Langley

Global News/File

Langley RCMP have closed streets and evacuated nearby homes tonight following a domestic dispute that resulted in a man barricading himself in a shed on his property.

Mounties were called to the home at about 6 p.m. and found the husband suffering with a self-inflicted gunshot wound from a pellet gun.

The man’s injuries are not life-threatening and he has barricaded himself alone in a shed on his property.

The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services are on the scene.

RCMP have closed 207 Street between 53 and 56 Avenues and are asking motorists to take alternate routes to avoid the area.
