GOLDEN, B.C. — If you’re traveling between the Okanagan and Alberta this May long weekend, you may be in for delays.

Highways crews worked to clear debris from the Trans Canada Highway Friday morning, after a mud slide came down 65 kilometers west of Golden in Glacier National park.

A travel advisory is in effect for the Trans Canada between Revelstoke and Golden.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Traffic was reduced to single lane alternating with delays of up to 30 minutes.

The highways ministry says weather conditions could lead to more mud flow activity this weekend.

With high traffic volumes expected, it says drivers should consider travelling early in the day or consider alternate routes.
