Greater Vernon Water warning

NORTH OKANAGAN–A warning tonight, from Greater Vernon Water,for people living near creeks and streams in the North Okanagan.
Duteau Creek Water resevoir readings taken by Greater Vernon Water show that reservoirs are near capacity, and are expected to spill this weekend.
Residents near creeks and streams should be aware that water levels may rise quickly.
People are being urged to be cautious around fast moving water, especially children and recreational users.
According to the BC River Forecast Centre, the May first snow basins are at 128 percent of normal.
Because of cooler temperatures at the end of April, the snow melt has been delayed.
As the weather warms up, runoff could be higher than normal.
