WINNIPEG – Brian Bowman has officially thrown his name into Winnipeg’s mayoral race.

The privacy lawyer arrived at city hall Tuesday morning with his wife and two young boys by his side to register as a candidate.

“This is a really special day for our family,” said Bowman. “A really special day for Winnipeg. Today is about moving forward and giving Winnipeggers an option to embrace new generation leadership for a stronger Winnipeg.”

Bowman is the fourth person to officially declare he’s running for mayor. Former city councillor Gord Steeves, blogger Gordon Warren and funeral director Mike Vogiatzakis have previously filed their papers.

“What Winnipeggers are looking for is something new,” said Bowman. “They’re looking to move forward. What I offer that is unique is the ability to move forward. A lot of the other candidates represent the same old. We represent something different.”
