OAKVILLE, Ont. – A nine-year-old boy is in critical condition after an accident at his home in Oakville, Ont.
He had been entering the garage from the outside when his hooded sweatshirt became entangled in the door as it was opening.
Halton Region police say the child tried to run underneath it and a piece of clothing got caught.
Paramedics were called to the home near Bronte and Dundas around 7:15 p.m. Monday evening by a passerby who tried to help the boy.
He was rushed to a local hospital, then transferred to Sick Kids in Toronto.
Halton Region police say the boy’s parents were home at the time.
