Flooding closes highways across Manitoba

Many highways in Manitoba have been closed because of flooding. Province of Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Highways 45, 328, 19 and 579 are the latest Manitoba roads to close as flooding affects travel, particularly in the southwestern part of the province.

Flood preparations along Birdtail Creek prompted the closure of Highway 45 from Highway 16 to Highway 264 east of Russell, Man., and Highway 359 from Highway 476 to Highway 264 north of Birtle.

Here’s a full list of flood-related highway closures in Manitoba:

  • Highway 19 (at Riding Mountain National Park)
  • Highway 45 (from Highway 16 to Highway 264)
  • Highway 242 (north of Highway 16; local traffic allowed for first 3.5 km)
  • Highway 255 (from Highway 83 to Highway 254)
  • Highway 314 (from 10 km north of Highway 315 for 6 km)
  • Highway 320 (6 km north of Highway 4)
  • Highway 328 (local traffic only from Highway 276 to Highway 6)
  • Highway 355 (from 8 km east of Highway 21 for 3.2 km)
  • Highway 481 (from Highway 276 to Highway 490)
  • Highway 484 (from Highway 363 to Makaroff)
  • Highway 579 (for 6 km north of Highway 478)
  • Timberton Access Road (for 3 km north of Highway 5)
