Emergency crews were called to the scene of a collision between a car and a CTrain at 9th Street S.W.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon as a train was approaching 6th Avenue.

While no one was injured, the collision caused major traffic jams downtown.

CTrain service was also disrupted for thousands of commuters during the evening rush. Calgary Transit deployed shuttle buses to ferry CTrain riders between the 8th Street station downtown and Sunnyside.
