KELOWNA — There were several calls in to the Kelowna fire department Thursday afternoon after huge amounts of smoke were seen in Kelowna’s north end. Turns out it was coming from the Tolko Mill.

The fire department confirmed it’s nothing to worry about. Emergency officials called the mill directly and were told wet fuel was being burned, which caused more smoke than normal.
The fire department said this happens every once in a while and that’s why Tolko was called before the trucks were sent.
