ESTEVAN, Sask. – The results of the city by-election in Estevan are in and local businessman Trevor Knibbs has been elected to city council.
Also on the ballot was a question to residents – would they be in favour of building a casino in town?

That response came back an overwhelming ‘no’ with 1297 people voting against it, while just 524 people were in favour of a casino in Estevan.
The mayor of Estevan says he wasn’t surprised by the outcome, but is glad that council let the residents decide.
