Crews on scene of train derailment

WINNIPEG — Multiple rail cars came off the tracks in Winnipeg on Sunday.

Crews were called to the area off Pembina Highway in St. Norbert at around 1 p.m.

Canadian National Railway said seven cars derailed.

Three contained plastic pellets, two were carrying wood products and another two were carrying pipes. There were no dangerous goods on the cars.

No one was injured as a result of the derailment.

CN was expected to be on the scene for a number of hours as its crews cleaned up the scene and put the train back on the tracks.

Winnipeg police, fire and paramedics were also called.
