CALGARY – Police are hoping to solve a terrifying home invasion from last year, which saw a woman attacked in her own home.
It happened on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013.
Police say three armed men banged on the door to the victim’s Skyview Ranch home around 10 p.m.
Thinking it was her husband, the woman opened the door, and the culprits forced their way inside.
The suspects threatened the woman with a handgun and knives, yelling at her to give them gold and money.
After leading her through the home as they looked for jewelry, the suspects shoved the woman into a closet.
Investigators believe the home was targeted by the offenders who likely knew the family temporarily had a large amount of jewelry as they were celebrating a family event.
The thieves left the home in the 0-100 block of Skyview Shores Garden N.E. with an estimated $20,000 in property.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
On Tuesday, officers filmed a Crime Stoppers re-enactment, hoping the video may encourage anyone with information to contact police.
Police are searching for three suspects:
- The first suspect is described as 5’6” tall, with a medium build. He wore a black mask, black jacket, black gloves, blue jeans, and was armed with a black handgun.
- The second suspect is described as 5’11” tall, with a medium build. He was wearing black jacket and black, a black mask, black gloves and had a knife in his hand.
