EDMONTON – A resident of a small northern Alberta community has discovered human remains believed to be of a woman who has been missing since December.
Police say a person was walking in village of Hythe, Alberta when they saw the human remains which were partially covered in snow in a grassy area.
RCMP were immediately called, and investigators now believe the remains are that of 64-year-old Linda Donnelly who has been missing since December 11, 2013.
RCMP don’t believe the death is suspicious but the remains are being sent to Edmonton for an autopsy.
Donnelly was last seen leaving her residence at the Hythe Pioneer Home. She was reported missing a few hours later when she didn’t return.
Police say Donnelly had a history of leaving the home without notifying anyone, only to return sometime later.
Hythe is 58 kilometers northwest of Grande Prairie.
