TORONTO – “It’s in the past now. There’s nothing I can do about it.”

Who said it? Well, you may think Mayor Rob Ford. But a recently uploaded YouTube video tries to show what happens when a young girl takes a page from the embattled mayor’s book.

The video features a father trying to find out whether his daughter put a crack in a door while throwing the ball inside their house.

Her response? No. She didn’t.

The father says he has video proof.  Her response may sound familiar.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“I did not do the crack and I am not in the habit of making cracks. As for the video, I will not comment on a video that I have never seen or does not exist.”

Then, she explains, he wasn’t asking the right question.

“Exactly. No I did not do the crack. The ball did the crack. Probably in one of my sleepy stupors.”

“You did the crack.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoam” responds the girl. “I answered your question. Look, I’ve made mistakes, I’m sorry. I’m not perfect. I’m only human. It’s in the past now, there’s nothing I can do about it. It is what it is, I’ve apologized and I think it’s time to move on.”

The video ends with the words “Our children are listening” running across the screen.

The video mimics Ford’s numerous denials that he used crack cocaine and that a video might exist. After months of denial, the mayor admitted to smoking crack in one of his “drunken stupors” in November in response to a question from Global News reporter Jackson Proskow. Ford later suggested he didn’t admit to the drug use because reporters weren’t asking the “right questions.”
