A Penticton woman was seriously injured after falling from her horse, breaking her ribs and puncturing her lung.
She was all alone in a remote area and out of cell range.

But by pure serendipity, help came within minutes after people in a helicopter spotted a horse with a saddle.
The rescuers knew that horse meant a rider was probably nearby – and probably injured.

So they followed their gut and looked for the woman. They found her within minutes and brought her to her family.
She is now recovering from home, and hopes to get back on the saddle by mid-May.
