WINNIPEG – Juno Awards weekend started off with a bang Saturday.

Hundreds of Canadian music fans packed St. Vital Centre and lined up to meet their favorite stars at Juno Fan Fare.

“We’re in love with Tegan and Sara, they’re our favorite, I’m shaking,” said one excited fan.

Along with Tegan and Sara other artists from Three Days Grace, Walk Off the Earth, The Trews, and many others signed autographs for screaming fans.

“I think it’s one of the best events and it’s the only event where fans get the opportunity to meet their artists and the people that they came to see at the Junos,” said Juno Fan Fare producer Zane Van Hoek.

All of the fans were star struck after meeting their idols.

“It was so cool, I’ve never actually met Walk Off the Earth or Tegan and Sara and their shows never really come through Winnipeg so it was awesome to meet them,” said fan Quincy Houdayer.

Being able to get up close and personal with famous artists doesn’t happen very often in Winnipeg.

“We’ve only really got the Jets and hopefully the Bombers this year but it’s cool to see a big event like this and people support Canadian music,” said fan Andrew Risk.

Earlier Saturday morning hundreds of little ones also wiggled to the sounds of the five Juno children’s ‘Album of the Year’ nominees at the sold out Children’s Museum Junior Junos.
