WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg woman is appealing for help finding the driver of the truck involved in a hit-and-run collision that was caught on camera.

Stacey Napoleone, 20, was driving on Logan Avenue on March 20 when a large white transport truck began to merge into her lane, hitting her small car on the driver’s side and sending her crashing over a snowbank and onto the sidewalk before it stopped just short of a fence post.

The truck continued on its way without stopping.

The owner of a nearby business rushed out to check on her and later found the incident had been recorded on his store’s security camera.

Stacey and her mother, Nicole, posted the video on YouTube in the hopes someone will recognize the truck and report it to police.

Stacey Napoleone is being treated for back injuries as a result of the crash.

Napoleone couldn’t get an appointment with Manitoba Public Insurance to assess the damage and discuss the claim until near the end of April. It’s not clear whether MPI will hold her responsible for the crash if the other driver and vehicle can’t be identified.
