METRO VANCOUVER — Surrey Mounties are seeking public assistance to identify several more children who are allegedly contained in child porn images seized in connection to a Surrey man.
Police announced Tuesday that five more charges of sex-related offences have been laid against James Cardno, 46, who has been released on bail and lives in the Fraser Heights area of Surrey.
The new charges — two counts of sexual interference, two counts of sexual exploitation and one count of invitation to sexual touching — allegedly involve two children.
Cardno was earlier charged with making and possessing child pornography.
Last March, Cardno was initially charged with eight offences involving four alleged child victims.
But police say they still have not identified several other children contained on the alleged child porn seized during the investigation, which was sparked by a complaint from a parent.
Cardno’s alleged relationship with the children was through the parents, police said.
The investigation is being conducted by the Surrey RCMP Child Abuse and Sexual Offender Unit.
His offences allegedly took place in the Fraser Heights area and the area of King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue between1995 and 2009.
He has been released from custody, with conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victims or any other children.
Anyone with more information should contact Constable O’Ruairc at 604-599-0502 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
