Doctor shortage in rural B.C. continues to frustrate residents

Lineups outside medical clinics are becoming a more common sight in the Interior, as the number of doctors available continues dropping.

One of two doctors recently recruited to practice in Ashcroft is already leaving.

Logan Lake lost its only doctor two weeks ago.

The Interior Health Authority has spent years and a lot of money trying to convince doctors to set up shop in the region, with limited success.

Many are wondering what it will take to get more physicians into rural communities, and they worry about how they will get medical attention in the meantime.
