<p>MONTAGUE, – An RCMP officer from Prince Edward Island is facing charges of assault and forcible confinement following a public complaint.</p> <p>The charges were laid against Const. Darren Doucette after someone was allegedly arrested and held without grounds in a marked police vehicle in Montague last Nov. 4.</p> <p>Doucette was responding to a noise complaint.</p> <p>The RCMP issued a news release today saying a followup code-of-conduct investigation has also been ordered.</p> <p>Doucette, who is due in provincial court June 23, has been placed on administrative duties until further notice.</p>
