ABOVE: Toronto residents have been blasted by cold and wind in recent days – but could warmer temperatures be on the way?
TORONTO – Environment Canada has ended a wind chill warning for the Greater Toronto Area as a cold weather system is finally making its way through Southern Ontario Thursday.
Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists of treacherous driving conditions Thursday morning as roads are still slick and icy from Wednesday’s snowfall.
Emergency crews had to deal with several collisions on major highways overnight.
The lanes of Highway 401 at the 407 were closed for several hours early this morning as emergency crews dealt with a collision between two tractor-trailers.
Environment Canada says the temperature will begin to warm up during the day as the winds dissipate and warmer air moves into the region.
Toronto’s high Thursday is expected to be -5 degrees Celsius with a low tonight of -7.
Showers will begin to move in Friday afternoon with a high of plus 6 degrees.
