HALIFAX – One person has been sent to hospital after a fire destroyed a home in East Lawrencetown Thursday morning.
Crews were called to a duplex on Lakeshore Drive before 6 a.m. to find the home already engulfed in flames.

Everyone in the home was evacuated. The person who was sent to hospital has unknown injuries.
Firefighters are still at the scene cleaning up. Cold temperatures made putting out the fire more difficult than usual.
Traffic has been blocked while the crews continue to work.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
