KELOWNA — Inside Prospera Place, the legend of three members of the Kelowna Rockets wall of fame has only grown.

Jamie Benn, Duncan Keith and Shea Weber, all members of Sunday’s gold medal winning team, immortalized by portraits on the wall.

“We’re really honoured and we’re so proud of them as an organization,” said Rockets General Manager, Bruce Hamilton.

Hamilton already congratulated two of his three Rockets alumni.

“I talked to Jamie and Shea Weber after the game; they called and were having…I think they were having a couple sociables.”

Meantime, in Victoria the proud parents and friends of Jamie Benn celebrated in style, after watching the B.C. boy play a pivotal role in his team’s success.

“[We are the] proudest parents in the whole world.  That’s our baby out there.  Every guy on that team is ours and every guy on that team is all of Canada’s”

Sunday’s gold medal was the second Olympic gold for Shea Weber and Duncan Keith; both won gold at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Jamie Benn now joins them with this latest victory.

All three played key parts in the win. Keith and Weber, a formidable defensive pairing, with Weber tallying three goals in the tournament. Benn notching two goals in his first Olympic games, including the game winner in Friday’s semi-final one nothing win over the United States.

Meantime back at Prospera Place a call was likely being made to the artist responsible for the wall of portraits, asking them to add an extra gold medal around all three of their necks.
