<p>VANCOUVER – Teck Resources Ltd. (TCK.B) announced Friday that it has reach a tentative contract deal with unionized workers at its Fording River metallurgical coal operation in British Columbia.</p> <p>The proposed deal with Local 7884 of the United Steelworkers would cover a five-year term expiring April 30, 2016.</p> <p>Teck said the union negotiating committee has unanimously recommended the agreement, but that financial and other terms would not be made public until the ratification vote is complete.</p> <p>Teck is a diversified resource company committed with major business units focused on copper, zinc and energy in addition to its coal business.</p> <p>Earlier this month, striking workers at the company’s Elkview coal mine ratified a new five-year agreement.</p>
