Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Canada Olympic House, the meeting place for Canadian athletes, on Friday. And it seems he has a lot of fans.
Athletes tweeted photos with the president and, according to flag-bearer and hockey forward Hayley Wickenheiser, Putin took a little dig at the Canadian hockey team.
“Let us wish our teams meet in the hockey final,” Putin told the crowd, to loud applause. “We will together enjoy their art and their courage.”
Speed skater Brittany Schussler got up close and personal with Putin, snapping a selfie.
