Several possibilities for the new Kelowna Yacht club building have been revealed.
The existing yacht club facility on Water Street in Kelowna, across from City Hall, will be torn down as well as the neighbouring Seniors Centre.
The new clubhouse will be located where the Seniors Centre is currently located, next to the boat launch.
The Yacht Club is still in the process of selecting the architect and is reviewing members input on the three renderings. Opinion submission closed April 18th.
The Selection Committee will make the final decision.
The Kelowna Yacht Club has been leasing the lakeshore property it currently occupies from the City for 66 years.
The deal between the Club and the City guarantees public access to the waterfront walkway. The land was purchased by the Club for $1 million, while it has also contributed $675,000 towards a parking reserve fund.
The architectural renderings have been posted on the Kelowna Yacht Club website.
The Water Street Seniors Centre will be moved to the Parkinson Recreation Centre off Harvey Avenue.
