It was reported that the accused, who volunteered for a youth organization, began sexual texting with a 12-year-old girl from the same organization in early 2013.

It is also alleged that in July 2013, Hammermeister sexually assaulted the girl at her parent’s home.

Police say they were contacted by the girl’s father in November, after he discovered sexually-related content on his daughter’s cell phone.

Hammermeister has been arrested by police.
