TORONTO – Bustle melded a taste of the great outdoors and cottage chic with a modern style sensibility with sleek, tailored menswear separates to close out Day 2 of Toronto’s LG Fashion Week on Tuesday.

All of the hallmarks of the Toronto-based sportswear label fronted by husband-and-wife duo Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow were in full force in the runway presentation, complete with a little tongue-and-cheek take on winter living in style.

Faint, fine, shimmering particles reminiscent of a light dusting of snow appeared to swirl overhead as various cognac-toting models took turns making their catwalk strut, posing at the end of the runway on a vintage sled.

But the garments remained the central focus, with a succession of crisp blazers, overcoats, button-down collared shirts and slim-fit pants resplendent in checks and plaids and lushly rich red, burgundy, violet, hunter green and periwinkle blue. There were refined accents, like piping on shoulders and pops of colour on collars.

Slim-fit pants, vests and several other items in the range featured the label’s customized decal with a deer with antlers.

Making a cameo appearance as models were on-air personalities Aliya-Jasmine Sovani of MTV Canada and Wilder Weir of Cosmo TV.

Fashion Week continues until April 1.
