A West Kelowna woman is desperately hoping for a new kidney and she’s hoping someone will contact her online and help save her life.
Leona Godin has been undergoing dialysis for 8 years. Godin is at the top of the waiting list, but because she has a relatively rare blood type, she’s had to put her life on hold.
Godin has been waiting eight years for a donor kidney that matches her rare blood type, B positive. Diabetes has destroyed both of her kidneys.
Four out of 100 people are B positive.
While she waits, she’s been doing dialysis every other day just to stay alive.
