An arctic ridge of high pressure is expected to develop, pushing frigid temperatures throughout the South Coast, including Vancouver Island, Whistler, and Metro Vancouver.

“By midweek, daytime highs and overnight lows will be cold, with daytime highs barely above freezing and overnight lows falling to minus 10 degrees or colder beginning Tuesday. The cold temperatures will persist for the remainder of next week,” Environment Canada said in an alert, adding that further warnings may be issued.
