TORONTO – Dufferin County declared a state of emergency Wednesday due to high winds and frigid temperatures that have strained the municipality’s resources.

The declaration was made at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday because “local resources have been exhausted” due to the storm, according to a press release from Dufferin county officials.

“Mutual assistance agreements need to be implemented to further manage this situation,” the press release reads.
