Saskatoon man sentenced for child luring after sting operation

SASKATOON – A Saskatoon man has been sentenced to prison after he was caught in a child luring sting by police.

David Andrew Hubbard was arrested on Oct. 18, 2013 after going to a pre-arranged meeting spot to meet a 15-year-old girl.

Instead, he was met by members of the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation unit who took him into custody after a brief chase.

On Monday, Hubbard was sentenced to three years in prison less 101 days for time served while in remand.

He is also required to register on the national sex offender registry and submit a DNA sample.

Hubbard was convicted in 2008 on charges of child luring and possession of child pornography.

He received a 17-and-half-month sentence for those offenses.
