The coroner’s inquest into the death of Greg Matters resumes today.
The former soldier was shot twice in the back by an RCMP officer after a 40-hour standoff in Prince George.
Matters was killed in September 2012. He was a Bosian war veteran who was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
B.C.’s independent police watchdog has cleared the force of wrongdoing in his death.
The jury for the coroner’s inquest cannot find fault, but can make recommendations to prevent a similar incident from happening again.
Emergency response team members are expected to testify this week, as well as the lead investigator from the Independent Investigations Office.
