Lethbridge police charge teacher with sexual assault of two boys

LETHBRIDGE – Police have charged a man in connection to the sexual assault of two boys- and even more disturbing is the fact that he is a Grade 4 teacher.

Police launched an investigation earlier this month after receiving a report that a nine-year-old boy had been assaulted in the summer of 2013.

Further investigation unveiled a second potential victim, who was allegedly assaulted several times between June 2008 and July 2012.

Police arrested 37-year-old Jamey Byran Kristian on Thursday. Kristian was working as a teacher at Raymond school.

He is charged with two counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation and one count of invitation to sexual touching.

He has been remanded in custody until a court appearance scheduled for Jan. 27, 2014.
