Slippery road conditions threatening Saskatoon motorists

SASKATOON – Police are warning motorists to be careful as Saskatoon road conditions deteriorate on Sunday.

Road conditions throughout the city are slippery and drivers are being asked to adjust their speed accordingly.

While these conditions aren’t unusual, police are specifically identifying Idylwyld Drive north of Circle Drive as extremely slippery at this time.

At least two motor vehicle accidents caused by these conditions have occurred in this area.

Environment Canada says there will be periods of light snow and blowing snow on Sunday with northwest winds gusting up to 50 km/h.

The temperature is expected to fall to minus 12 this afternoon and minus 16 Sunday night.
