One dead after head on crash near Weyburn, Saskatchewan

RCMP responding to a crash on the TransCanada Highway West found themselves with two more collisions to sort out in the same area. File / Global News

FORGET, Sask. – One person is dead and a second was injured following a collision Thursday afternoon near Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 13 when a semi and a three ton truck collided head on east of Forget, Sask.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The semi driver was taken to hospital in Regina for treatment of serious facial injuries.

Traffic around the scene was detoured for over seven hours while Mounties carried out their investigation.

Police say weather and road conditions are not believed to be factors in the fatal crash.

Forget is approximately 70 kilometres east of Weyburn.
