Sixteen-year-old accused attacker of 19-year-old Karim Meskine has been denied bail in New Westminster court.
No details have been released on why the bail was denied because of the publication ban.
The attacker is charged with the second-degree murder of Karim Meskine. The 19-year-old was discovered by a passerby on Dec. 17 near the 22nd Street SkyTrain station in New Westminster.
He had allegedly been beaten with a baseball bat and died in hospital shortly after.

Meskine’s accused killer, who cannot be identified, has been fighting for bail but Meskine’s family wants the teen to stay behind bars.
“I am trying to enjoy this moment with my family because we need that, we have a long way to go, but we are certainly happy with the decision,” Karim’s mother Julie said after the decision was announced today.
