TORONTO – Wintry weather caused a 20-car pileup and a tractor-trailer to jackknife on the QEW near Beamsville Thursday.
Between 30 and 50 vehicles were involved in separate accidents both ways on the highway Thrusday afternoon after wintry weather reduced visibility to near-zero.
As a result of the pileup, the OPP have closed the Toronto-bound lanes of the QEW near Victoria Street in Beamsville.
Additional officers and tow-trucks are being called to deal with all the accidents.
There have not been any serious injuries reported as a result of the accidents.
