Man in serious condition following shooting in northeast Toronto

TORONTO – A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a shooting in northeast Toronto early Wednesday morning.

Toronto police say the victim was shot around 4:30 a.m. near McNicoll Avenue and Brimley Road.

The man was then driven away in a car that rolled over  a short time later at Brimley and Lawrence Avenue East about seven kilometres from the scene of the shooting.

Paramedics say the gunshot victim and four others in the vehicle were taken to trauma centres for treatment.

Police have not released any details of suspects and the investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, police say about an hour earlier a man was wounded in the foot in a shooting linked the robbery of a business just west of the downtown core near Bathurst and Queen streets.
