Search crews have rescued a skier who spent a frigid night in the backcountry of Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops.

A Washington State woman in her 40s became separated from her partner Friday afternoon after leaving the ski area boundary in the north east region of the mountain.

Crews were able to make contact with the woman via cell phone, however they weren’t able to locate her overnight.

Rescuers located the woman Saturday morning, but there is no information on her condition yet.

In a separate incident, two sisters were rescued Saturday at around 12 a.m. after skiing out-of-bounds in the same area.

Search crews were able to find tracks in the snow and locate the women, aged 17 and 21.
