HALIFAX – Halifax police have arrested two men in connection to a shooting in Dartmouth that sent two people to hospital and that charges are anticipated.
Theresa Rath, spokesperson for Halifax Regional Police, said that the two men were arrested during a traffic stop at a gas station on Forest Hills Parkway in Cole Harbour just before noon.
Rath said that police are not looking for any other suspects at this point.
Just before 9:30 a.m. on Friday, police say at least two shots rang out in the parking lot of an apartment building on Trinity Avenue.
Halifax police say a woman was shot in the face and a man was shot in the torso. The woman was taken to hospital.

The male victim flagged down a vehicle and the driver called police. Police and paramedics met the man at the bus terminal on Nantucket Avenue and he was taken to hospital.
Both face non-life threatening injuries.
“It is believed they were conscious and breathing at the time they were taken to hospital,” Rath said.
Several bags of evidence were seized from the scene, including a pop can, a purse and what appeared to be bloody clothing.
Police say there was one shooter involved and that the shooter did know the victims. The ages of the victims were not released.
Police seized three vehicles connected to the shooting.
The silver SUV involved in the Cole Harbour traffic stop was seized.
One black vehicle was seized from a residence on Auburn Drive in Cole Harbour.
Four people, three men and a woman, inside the residence were taken in for questioning.
Rath said the four were released late Friday afternoon and no charges would be laid against them.
She also said that a red vehicle was seized in North Preston but the female driver was released.
Many residents on Trinity Avenue curiously watched the action on what they say is a normally quiet street.
“I had to take the dog out for a walk. I saw the tape up and I came down to see what was going on,” said Ken Campbell.
“I’ve been here seven years. This is the first time I’ve seen something like this happen.”
“I’m not surprised it happened and no I’m not scared, it’s the type of world we live in,” said Melissa Horne as she watched the police activity from her driveway.
Rath said charges are anticipated against the two men who were arrested but police are still working on the details.
Charges must be laid within 24 hours of an arrest.
